AN ORAL HISTORY OF NETFLIX AND CHILL ....

HE-HE (GUILTY PLEASURE OR JUST PLEASURE)
Puis-je avoir votre attention s'il vous plait.- May I have your attention, please. Well obviously I have because you are reading this now. So how do you explain the above blog title....Things that make you go hmmmm.
Its very easy actually, it all happened when suddenly we weren't getting our red envelopes in the mail anymore. My DVD player actually has 3 inches of dust. It really all seems like a blur. I mean when did we abruptly move from getting Netflix in the mail, to streaming? Mind you I just read an article that in certain parts of the U.S. ppl are still doing the Netflix mail in DVD portion. For me the "Chill factor" started w/ our binge of #OITNB (a.k.a.Orange is the New Black) Series. Obsession indeed started after that.
For example/ series that I am currently watching & in no particular order:
  • Portlandia (season 1 thru 4)
  • Chef's Table
  • Bloodline
  • The Mind of a Chef
  • Anthony Bourdains Parts Unknown 
  • Sense 8
  • And all things Ken Burns: documentary of the following: The West/Prohibition/The War/The Civil War/
  • Grace & Frankie (so far Season 1) highly recommend this one! w/ Jane Fonda
  • of course last but not least binged on "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"
  • ahhhh ok and now Mad Men (Season 7) please note they only have on +Netflix up to episode 13 for the rest of the final season you will have to buy it on I-tunes or wait for who knows how long
And those are just the "series" part, last night I watched 2 documentaries:
Faith Connections- Director : Pan Nalin
Steve Jobs: one last thing- by PBS

I mean the fun and learning is never ending! Not all is on Netlfix however, sometimes I type in a title that I could almost guarantee would be there and its not. So I swing over to +EPIX / +Hulu or +AmazonPrimeTV 

And finally if your title is not there then you have to pay my friend : Apple- I Tunes
So there you go a never ending stream to turn you into a zombie in no time, and an excellent excuse to put off scrubbing your toilet!

@njtech BLAST OFF!!!

Robots, Rockets and Drones , oh my!!!
Ok, so this his how I got to the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken : walking and then up a flight of stairs "Rocky style" and I'm not kidding. After struggling up the 1000 steps, I had to ask Campus Police where the Howe Center bldg. was , after that I had to go up to the 4th floor. At this point , I am covered in a pool of sweat, whip out my phone and start Periscoping. Because the Scope competition was on, to my delight the first person I scoped was the amazing and charming Ms.Ashley Kaplan - Marketing Manager of the NJTC (New Jersey Tech Council). Ms. Ashley invited all of us to an event where there will be Drones and Robots , yeepeee! My kind of idea of fun indeed.
So lets go back to the Meet-Up: shout out to Aaron from @NJtech!  First we started w/ presentation of 3 start-ups , then a Q&A interview w/ @garyvee (Mr. Gary Vaynerchuck) CEO of @vaynermedia. And girl he is a Hustler in true body, mind, and soul. This guy was 100% ON . No BS and by that I mean in true Jersey style the f bomb was dropped so many times I lost count. He was so focused and so passionately talking, he actually was late for his meeting, unless he took a helicopter, I have no clue how he got out of this Bldg. so fast. Especially since it took me 1/2 to get out, going down the "Rocky stairs" again.
I am really excited for the upcoming meetups for this group. Very impressed even that the actual Mayor of Hoboken (Mayor Dawn Zimmer) was on the floor. Don't ask me what she said cause the whole time I was star-struck. This is the same lady that went against Governor Christie for withholding Sandy Relief.. This lady rules and she is a true JERSEY GIRL.
From the journal of Miss Zimmer regarding Christie:
" I thought he was honest. I thought he was moral
I thought he was something very different,
I am so dissapointed, it literally brings tears to my eyes"
Ahhhh, poetry and journals. Like peas & carrots.
So yeah round of applause this week for the @njtech Meet-Up team. You guys did a wonderful job and the pepporoni pizza was on point!!

YAY SHOUT OUT TO @EPIXHD !!!! Social Edition

EPIX HD has been EPIX TO ME !!! hehe, see it all started out w/ going in and out of Periscope in one day I went in and out of my favorite scopers channels and they had this competition named #passthehunt. So much fun for us , but not so much fun for the poor scopers running around stores like chickens with out heads-lol
But shout out to Epix HD !!!! See let me explain , first I was named "tentative winner" , then I won!!!!
Yay, but wait it gets better, EPIX HD went beyond the call of duty to deal w/ me and I have the e-mails to prove it!
First email went something like this:
RE: EPIX Digital Subscription Giveway

Me: Hey guys, I tried entering the code you sent me and I got this message: inserted message
EPIX: Sorry about that! Thanks for bringing this to my attn. Please try using code blah blah blah- Thanks!
Me: Hi again! Sorry I submitted this code/ then it takes me to a screen after I hit submit and it asks me to choose my tv provider, and the trial is for 14 days, but I won for 6 months, maybe I am looking at the wrong screen/ I even tried clicking on trial account but when I enter my email address it tells me to contact customers service. So here I am.
EPIX: Sorry you're having trouble just to confirm what you said , after you submitted the Code, filled in your info, and clicked "watch now" you were taken to another screen that asks you to choose your TV provider?
Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser. Please let me know if it's still not working . And I'll get our developers to look into it - Thanks!
Me: Sorry this is so diff, I even called customer service and the prompts ask me what my provider is. Can you have someone call me so I can explain to customer service that I won this 6 month promotion through social media?Thank  you

LMao, let me translate that last email, you dimwit we went ahead and set up an account for your dumb ass. And Presto , they came through, round of applause to the patience of the Epix HD customer service!! YaY and to me of winning of course. Hehe, so I made time to watch Prismatic Katy Perry Tour!! Awesome and then a Q&A w/ Mario Lopez. Fab!
